Repository Policy

Andalasian Livestock encourages authors to make their research widely accessible by archiving their work in repositories of their choice, in compliance with our open-access and licensing policies. In alignment with Sherpa Romeo’s guidelines, the journal permits authors to archive the following versions of their articles in institutional, subject, or other reputable repositories, provided the articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license.

Archiving Policy by Article Version

  1. Preprint Version (Author’s Original Manuscript)

    • Definition: The preprint is the version of the article before peer review, as initially submitted by the author(s) to the journal.
    • Archiving Policy: Authors are allowed to deposit the preprint version in any repository of their choice, such as institutional repositories, preprint servers, or research networks (e.g., arXiv, bioRxiv).
    • Requirements: The archived preprint must include a statement that it has not yet been peer-reviewed and that it is submitted to Andalasian Livestock for consideration. Once the article is accepted and published, authors should update the preprint with a citation and link to the final published version on the journal’s website.
  2. Postprint Version (Author’s Accepted Manuscript)

    • Definition: The postprint is the version of the article after it has been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication, but before any journal formatting, typesetting, or copy-editing.
    • Archiving Policy: Authors are permitted to archive the postprint in any repository of their choice.
    • Requirements: The postprint must include a statement indicating that it is the accepted version of the article and is subsequently published by Andalasian Livestock. Authors should also include a citation and link to the published version when available. The postprint must be licensed under the CC BY-NC-SA license, in compliance with journal policy.
  3. Published Version (Version of Record)

    • Definition: The published version is the final, formatted, and typeset version of the article as it appears in Andalasian Livestock.
    • Archiving Policy: Authors are allowed to archive the published version in any repository, including institutional, subject-specific, or general repositories, as well as personal or professional websites.
    • Requirements: The archived published version must be clearly identified as the final version of record, with proper citation to the article on the Andalasian Livestock website. This version must also follow the CC BY-NC-SA license terms, which allow for sharing and adaptation for non-commercial purposes, provided the work is attributed to the original authors and shared under the same licensing terms.

Licensing Terms

All archived versions must be shared under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license. This license allows others to copy, share, and adapt the work for non-commercial purposes, with proper attribution and a requirement to license any adaptations under the same terms.
